about

The essential rock track for 2017 - To the barricades for freedom, equality, equal rights, and justice for every American!

lyrics

TO THE BARRICADES

I hear mothers’ children shouting in the streets
Heavy metal rising in the summer heat

Can you feel the anger
The politics of hate
It’s the same old battle
Since 1968
We gotta go now
To the barricades

Bad news comin from my TV every day
Politics and murder what you gonna say?

Can you feel the anger
The politics of hate
Pouring like a flood
From the castle gate
We gotta go now
To the barricades

In the news today, peaceful protests sweep the nation from ocean side to mountain peak as citizens rise, united in opposition to the reactionary regime and raise their voices to sound the alarm against the rising tide of intolerance and fear. From all corners of the nation, towns and farms, cities and villages, we are now seeing a new awakening of democratic values, as people from all walks of life, demand respect for human rights, the recognition of diversity, the affirmation of equality, and the guarantee of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all people regardless of race, color, or creed.

Too much information I don’t even care
Every channel’s static burning up the air

Can you feel the anger
The politics of hate
No time to back down
Or negotiate
We gotta go now
To the barricades

Gonna hold ‘em back now
At the barricades
